5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before Leading a Cannabis Business…

Dr. Lindholm graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1993 where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Thank you so much for doing this with us! Can you share with us the story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I would never have guessed I would be involved in a CBD business but I had a personal injury, rupturing a ligament in my right wrist.  This would be a painful injury for anyone but for a Chiropractor who uses his hands and wrists to adjust patients all day long, this was a physically and emotionally horrible injury with the potential to end my career.  Even after 26 years, being a Chiropractor is something I love to do so the thought of being unable to treat patients was very scary to me. After suffering for weeks, I tried CBD with miraculous results. After 3 days of CBD use the pain was 80% better and then after a month of CBD use, I was able to completely rehabilitate my wrist with no impairment.  I had many side benefits like the chronic knee pain from previous injuries and the plantar fasciitis, which both completely disappeared. I also slept better and deeper than ever, and had increased mental focus. These personal experiences lead me to spend months reviewing the scientific research surrounding CBD products and the Endocannabinoid System and then to write a book called, A Doctor’s Perspective on CBD, Science, Success Stories and Changed Lives, and join a CBD Oil business.  Knowing what I know about the many benefits of CBD I feel like I have a moral obligation to tell as many people as possible.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you began leading your company?
A man who I had never met messaged me through my CBDdrMark Facebook page asking me questions about the CBD product I sell called UltraCell.  We messaged back and forth for weeks as I answered all his questions and he told me his story of having an injury that lead him to opioid use and addiction.  He had suffered with pain and opioid addiction for years. I finally arranged to ship him a bottle of UltraCell and he had a miraculous result from it. Within a month he was able to able to get off his opioids on his own using just the UltraCell, previously opioid withdrawal had required him being hospitalized.  Now almost a year later he continues to do extremely well and now helps others as an independent Zilis ambassador.

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
When I started writing my book, A Doctor’s Perspective on CBD, Science, Success Stories and Changed Lives, I ignorantly thought I could complete it in 3 months.  I had never written a book before and I had no idea how much work writing, editing and publishing a book really is.  I learned so much from the process of writing my book but probably the biggest was that editing is torture. That’s a joke but there is some truth to it also.  The best lesson I learned was to reach out for expert help when you are doing something new.

Are you working on any exciting projects now? 
The launch of my book has been very exciting. While I have been focused on that, I am currently thinking about creating a downloadable CBD and Endocannabinoid System educational product and online community to help spread this much needed information and help more people experience the health benefits of CBD.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
As I was researching different ways to get involved in the business of CBD, a classmate of mine from Chiropractic School, Dr. Derrick Hendricks, introduced me to a network marketing company called Zilis.  You have to understand that I get solicited to join network marketing companies all the time and I usually run the other direction so I said, no thank you. What I’m grateful for is that Dr Hendricks didn’t give up, but kept sending me information about the Zilis Company and their products.  I kept saying no but he was undaunted and sent me information about the financial opportunities with this company, their patented water-soluble CBD product called UltraCell, third party testing and research about their products and gave me a bottle to try. This company, their products and business opportunities have been such a perfect fit for me and my patients.

This industry is young dynamic and creative. Do you use any clever and innovative marketing strategies that you think large legacy companies should consider adopting?
I’m a share person instead of a sales person.  I share information about CBD and the Endocannabinoid System, I share my personal experience or experiences of patients or people I know and then share the product.  So many people have a positive experience with the product that selling is not necessary.

Can you share 3 things that most excite you about the Cannabis industry? Can you share 3 things that most concern you?
The 3 things that excite me most are the amazing health benefits of high-quality CBD, the ability of CBD to be a safe alternative to drugs, and the vast financial opportunities in this booming industry.  The 3 things that concern me most are the large number of inferior quality products on the market, misinformation about the safety and effectiveness of CBD, and companies that put profit ahead of quality and safety.

Can you share your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Started Leading a Cannabis Business”? Please share a story or example for each. 

1. I wish someone had told me how much this journey would change my life.  My personal health is improved, I’ve been able to help hundreds of my patients who have used UltraCell CBD through my clinic, I have been able to educate people across the country with my book and I have built a team of over 300 other people in my network marketing Zilis team.
2. I wish someone had told me how fast this business grows.  I had no idea that I would sell out of my first shipment of CBD in 3 days or that my business would grow to include a network of members across the nation.
3. I wish someone had told me how rewarding it is to write a book.   Getting supportive reviews for my book, A Doctor’s Perspective on CBD, Science, Success Stories and Changed Lives, has been amazing.  I love that people years from now that I will never meet will benefit from my book.
4. I wish someone had told me that network marketing is an amazing business model.  I had never given this type of business a chance but with a top company and good leadership, network marketing can be a great model.  The Zilis Company has become known as “the uber of CBD”, in other words they have been able to create a turnkey CBD business opportunity that is so much easier than starting a business from scratch.
5. I wish someone had told me how much this business would change other peoples’ lives.  I expected my patients to get health benefits from using CBD but I was blown away at the vast number of benefits that many of them experienced.  Time and time again patients would say that UltraCell had “changed their lives”. I expected that as others joined me that they would benefit financially by sharing this business but I have been blown away at the ability it has given others to generate income in small and large amounts. 

What advice would you give to other CEOs or founders to help their employees to thrive?
Lead by example and reward talent, hard work and determination, but mostly try to find ways to make it fun.

You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂
I wish people understood just how amazing their human body is and their capacity for a healthy and rewarding life.  I wish as a country we would adopt a true wellness perspective that uses good nutrition, exercise, Chiropractic and other natural approaches, botanicals and supplements first before drugs and surgery.
